How to integrate solids with bottle schedule
We started solids! But with bottles, daycare, etc, how are y'all fitting in solids? We realized it's a bad idea to have our daughter try solids when she hasn't had a bottle in a while. Any other tips?
Also, are we all .... making meals for infants?!

The solids and bottles stage is so obnoxious lol. I usually did bottles at any wake up (first thing in the morning, after each nap) then 30 min before bed. Would usually do solids in the middle of a wake window or shortly after a bottle, except that night one.
When he was 6 months we did breakfast and dinner, then I think around 8-9 we moved to three meals and then started to add in a consistent snack. His oz dropped a lot around like 9-10 months, but my ped said it was okay as long as he was getting 16oz a day (it was breastmilk so maybe diff depending on baby and formula)
We did a lot of BLW so fed him whatever we were eating but we did do some baby meal prep of like veggies, apple sauce, lentils etc and froze them into ice cubes so we could just plop meals together from that.

Actually I don’t think we really did dinner AND breakfast til he was like 7-8 months. I think at 6-7 we just did one meal a day then worked our way up

I found that in the very beginning, trying to do solids on an empty stomach is a bad idea. Baby gets hangry, throws food, doesn’t eat and the only way to calm down is by giving the bottle. So starting with the bottle so that they aren’t starving but figuring out the sweet spot where they still have an appetite and want to experiment with solid foods is the big challenge.

Bottle first, then solids! She gets her nutrients from the bottle until 1yo so you wanna prioritize that. I sent bottles and little containers of purées to daycare. And then we’d fit it in at home when we could. Don’t stress about it though. She’ll learn how to eat :)
I made purées for my first kid but definitely did NOT for my second. There is no need to make your own, if you can afford to buy it, I wish I’d made it easier on myself and bought it. Also, you can literally use things like apple sauce and yogurt that are already “made.” I used to mash up blueberries into yogurt.

@Allison Krausmanwait when did you start sending purees to daycare?!! P still barely actually swallows food, so I didn't think it was time yet?!

@Kelsey Schererour little one is 9 mos and just started daycare. We send 1 container with him for lunch. It’s usually a purée from the night before (meat + veggie and maybe a rice or noodle). He tends to prefer those over the fruit mixtures.

Our little guy loves milk, so we actually had to do solids first so that he got some of the nutrients from the food before filling up on milk.
