Potty training
My daughter has been having good success with potty training but the last few days she has regressed and will not go in the potty but will sit on the potty. Any tips on how to get through this would be helpful. Thank you.

This is totally normal and happened with us as well. We adjusted her rewards a bit and that helped her get motivated again. You could try M&Ms or even a favorite book. The other thing I would say is that potty training is a journey...you're on the right path but there might be setbacks here and there! Don't give up and just keep moving forward. They will get it and it'll click. Just remembering that! Hang in there...you've got this! And so proud of her for making it to this milestone ❤️

Oh my god, potty training is so hard and even though my second son is only a year, I’m dreading having to do it again. Right when you think they’ve cracked it, they regress and you’re like, “Are we starting from zero?” My experience was that my expectations in terms of how long it would take were just way off. My son picked it up super fast and and then we had a cascade of regressions over 6 months. I’d say he was fully potty trained after a month but that didn’t mean no accidents and regressions like the one you described. So hang in there! Whatever you did to take her to where she’s at was working. It’ll just take a bit more time.

We used stickers to overcome times like these. So we gave her little rewards when things weren’t going well and she did the right thing. I’m not sure how much easier it made it, but it definitely helped.

@Haley Krause I see you posted this in March. How has potty training been going?
