When did you go arms out?
My five month old has been an excellent sleeper in the Snoo, doing 10-12 hours continuously since 2.5 months old. He’s going to outgrow it soon so we’ve been practicing arms out, but every time we do, he wakes himself up continuously. Not just startle reflex but rubbing his face, waving his arms in the air like he’s at a rave, rubbing the sides of the Snoo. We are up at least 4 times overnight if we do arms out. Any tips? Should I just wait til he’s in a crib and do Merlin?

At about the five or sixth month mark we started using swaddle in the Snoo like Love to Dream which weren’t arms out fully like the Merlin. We always joked that we’d need to send our kids to college in beds that rocked like the Snoo because they we do dependent on it for sleeping. But they adapted so fast. We were so anxious about getting rid of the Snoo that kept them in it until they couldn’t fit anymore 🤣 But at the end of the day they transitioned just fine…and then we found new things to get anxious about

Did you still use snoo motion when you switched to the swaddle up?

Yeah, we always used the motion on the Snoo. And we never used the weaning mode. We were furious when they introduced that because for our first it wasn’t an add on feature and for our second we had to pay for it. Which was just kinda annoying.

Update we’ve used the swaddle up for two nights (strapped into snoo Velcro around midsection) and it worked like a charm! Thank you!

Amazing! So much of this is just trial and error.
