Baby Led Weaning
Any tips for Baby Led Weaning? We didn’t do BLW for my first but would like to try for my second. I honestly don’t know where to begin.

Hey@Jocelyn Tsai! Have you tried starting solids? It was basically our bible when we did baby led weaning. They have this great app that shows you how to prepare and serve every kind of food. For example, it shows you how to cut grapes or what parts and size of a chicken you should give your baby. We used it for both our kids and they are good eaters. It’s definitely nerve wracking giving a 7 month old a rib but it’s also so fun to watch them explore new flavors, tastes and textures. And it can be very messy 😀 which is fun if you have a dog because they clean everything up and make fast friends with your baby!

We did a mix of BLW and purees and that really worked for us! Agree on the Solid Starts app - we use it to check every food lol. I was so overwhelmed that I procrastinated a bit, but once you get over the hump it's really, really fun! SO much work, though. If I could start over I would have done way more "meal prep" to have appropriately cut foods ahead of time. Nothing worse than loading a fidgety baby into a high chair and then chopping food while they watch 🥲 Our daughter (10 mo) goes to daycare and reliably sending her with multiple meals per day has helped her practice so, so much! Good luck!

I was really hesitant to do blw bc it’s so messy so we started with purées at 6 months but around 9 months she just started grabbing food from other peoples plates and baby led weaning on her own. My experience has been that they lead you where they wanna go
