How long after 1st birthday were you off bottles?
We are starting to transition into this, but I don’t know how fast to go. It doesn’t feel like he’s eating enough solids to be ready to go down to the recommended two cups of whole milk. Would love other stories.

There was a formula shortage when my son was 10.5 months and I jumped to milk and he’s fine.

All of our kids were off of bottles by 13 months. We did the transition to straw cups or those 360 cups by munchkin (skipped sippy). We felt like they were getting enough milk at meals/snacks and that would equal to about 2 cups of milk by the end of the day. Best of luck with this transition but it's a good one!

It took us quite a bit to transition. First, it was unclear how much solid food he was actually eating. And then he also really liked his milk and it was part of his morning and evening routine when waking up and going to bed. So trying to cut out the bottle either created a bad mood in the morning or troubled sleep in the evening. Ultimately, we just started slowly weaning him off so the bottle had fewer and fewer ounces. But we actually just got rid of it completely and now he’s 20 months. He’s still using a sippy cup, but I hate the sippy cups and I took so long to introduce it because they spill and we give him his bottle in his crib and then he’d make a mess so he probably kept using the bottle for way too long because I just didn’t want him to make a mess in his crib I have to wash his sheets because there was spilled milk.

my ped said to target 18mo but also didn't seem like it was that big of a deal to her! I felt so behind bc at 12mo bottles were still our default. She's about to be 14mo and we've gotten it down to 1 bottle before bed on weekdays, and on weekends we give her a bottle before nap. I know we have to remove the bottle=sleep association but I just don't have the energy rn. The thing about getting enough food - I'm still stressed about this always but have tried to accept that she will eat when she's hungry, and if not we have a bigger medical issue to talk to our ped about. Also we went straight to straw cups, and use silicone strings to attach them to stroller/high chair (tho no cups or bottles in bed so ymmv)
