Backup childcare when kids are sick - help!
What do you do for childcare when your kids are sick? We obviously don't want to / can't send her to daycare to spread germs, but also there are only so many sick days to go around. What about when your whole family gets infected and you need a little help? 💀 How do y'all handle this?

Ugh I'm so sorry 😔. TBH this is when I just put my foot down and say I'm taking a sick day also. It's not worth trying to do a little here and little there when everyone is feeling miserable. For the basic things, do delivery if you need anything but for the rest of it, cozy up and take care until you're all feeling a bit better!

Totally feel your pain on this one. First it just is miserable when everyone is sick. And two, the last minute child care logistics are terrible. We have a slightly different situation because we have a nanny so it's less about when day care/school isn't an option and more about when the nanny is sick or unable to work. In these situations my wife and I divide and conquer. Sometimes we take sick days or work half days or cobble together a schedule that works for each of us where if my wife has an important call, I'll take the kids then. But all that only works if work is flexible. If it's not, ugh, who knows. This is why parents need flexible work schedules. I just don't see how life works without it. I think the good news is that your baby is building up their immune system and we'll be over this hump by spring. (looking at calendar it is Jan 31 😩
