Stroller advice
I’m a bit late to the game here since I’m due in March and we haven’t bought a stroller. Trying to decide if we do something light weight like the Yoyo or splurge on an UppaBaby. Was hoping to hold out for a sale but missed all the Black Friday stuff. So now I just need to move. Any and all recs appreciated.

We love the Doona stroller/car seat combo. We’re in the suburbs so it’s super convenient given that we do have to drive to places.

Love our uppa baby minu. For us we needed to carry it up a set of stairs so lightweight was important for us.

@Sagar ParikhFor the Doona, I was worried about my baby outgrowing it quickly. Is that a real risk?

I guess I felt like the YoYo might be a better long term investment?

We looked at the yoyo but thought the latest version of Minu to be better. Easy to fold, easily adapts to all the Uppababy products (bassinet, car seat)

We love the Yo-Yo. We got it for our first as our only stroller (we don’t have a car). We were looking for something versatile but also good for the city, easy to fold up and take on the subway. Now that we have two we still use our Yo-yo a lot but if we go out with both kids we take our Cybex Gazelle. It’s a bit of a tank, but great for two kids. And it folds up nicely if space is a constraint.

We have the uppababy vista stroller with the adapter for the nuna pipa lite car seat. No complaints. Love that uppababy has alot of storage space on the bottom also

I had the yo-yo, but then I exchanged it for the Nuna trvl. And it was the best thing I ever did cause it opens and closes with one hand and it’s very light and if you get the package with the car seat, you don’t need adapter for it

Hi Anonymous! Excellent point. The weight limit on the doona is 35 lbs which our baby (who is now 13 months) defintely has not hit yet. They say when the baby reaches about 32 inches in height to stop using it. We would likely have to find a new stroller after about 18 months maybe… (I may be off on that calculation). It’s been super convenient so far though.

We opted for the Mockingbird system with baby #2 and completely bypassed an infant seat to go for a convertible. Wish we would’ve done it for baby #1.

Also highly considered the Doona but thankfully didn’t, heard mixed reviews about the weight once baby was in it. Thankfully didn’t get it bc baby #2 came out weighing 10lbs. Would’ve been like weight training trying to get in an out of the car.

I currently have the Donna and I loveeee it. My baby is 1 month old. And I’ve heard they only last until the baby is 1 years old. Which sucks. But it’s so convenient if you driving and getting in and out of the car.

@Sosaductive .
  • with the Doona, are you just able to quickly pop of the car seat and stick it into the car? Assuming that you need a base for the car, right?
