Picky eating
ugh last night was rough. my 3.5 yr old used to be such a good eater but lately he’s sooo picky. like carbs and cheese only. we made dinner and he flat out refused to eat any of it. in the past i prob would’ve just made him something else quick but this time we didnt. we told him he could eat what we were having or not eat at all. he chose not to eat. so yeah he went to bed without dinner.now i feel terrible. i keep thinking did i do the right thing? should i have just given him something so he didnt go to sleep hungry?? i dont wanna end up cooking seperate meals every night but i also hate the idea of him not eating. has anyone else been thru this? what do u do when ur kid just totally refuses dinner?

Hi! Don’t feel too bad. Kids go through this 4/6 of my kids did/are going through this. Just monitor what he does eat & like the comment above, occasional missed meals are not harmful, was even told that by one of my kids doctor. Depending on how long the picky eating lasts, just always bring it up to his pediatrician & watch for other odd things going on.
I attended a picky eating class for one of my kids & the had a lot of good recipes to hide fruits & veggies in certain meals, so I’d definitely look into that on Pinterest.
EllaOla is a good tasteless vitamin that can help with different nutrition deficiencies!
💛 you’re definitely not alone.

Oh yeah the only way we get him to eat veggies now is by hiding them in a smoothie and putting it in a pouch. this was the kid who loves broccoli and Brussel sprouts and all other veggies sigh 😔

Honestly I used to stress about this too and then my mom (5 kids) was like ‘Amy. Children will eat if they are hungry. Cook one meal for all of you. Lean towards easy things they will eat in the beginning. If they don’t finish their dinner they don’t get a second option. They will not waste away.’ I now do this and I honestly feel like a bit of boomer parenting boundaries help now and then haha
