Baby Registry Question
Hello! My wife and I are expecting a baby girl this summer. We’ve started to field queries about a Babylist (/registry). So we’re just starting to think about what we might need. I would love any advice and wisdom of the crowd about what’s worthwhile vs what’s worthless. Thank you in advance!!

I love my bouncer, I bought the baby delight one. Cheap, not heavy and my baby loves it. It helps them also with their bowel movements 😁

You’ll probably want at least two carriers. One for your and one for your wife. Those are key for getting outside in the early day. Like@Nicole Bertrandmentioned, bouncers are key so you can go hands free at different points. Get tons of acquafor and triple paste. If your baby gets constipated, having the Frida Baby Windi is key. Both our babies used the Snoo and we thought it was great. We got a bottle feeding packing to figure out which bottles worked best. Ultimate we went with Philips.

A couple of cliches that we loved/we're gifted but wouldn't have bought ourselves: the lovevery playmat/gym and the electric nose frida. We got our snoo used and it was amaaaaaazing. We only used it for nights (not naps) so I feel like the transition away was easier but also probably just our baby loving sleep. We got a pack and play that had a changing table AND bassinet attachment and kept that in the living room. That was key in the super early days - I didn't want to be in a different room from baby but also didn't want to be in bed all the time! However many burp cloths you think you'll need - double or triple that. If you think you'll use formula meaningfully the Dr brown's pitcher is the only way - you don't have to mix bottles as you go. If you're not sure just keep this rec in your back pocket in case you need it! If you plan on doing lots of walks or live in a city I recommend a bassinet attachment for your stroller. It was something I insisted we got and it was so nice to have in the first few months. I also put some stuff for my own healing on my registry and was surprised at the friends/fam who were excited to gift that stuff. It's one of the first things I look for on other registries now! Things we never got and didn't miss: bottle warmer! We only ever fed our baby bottles at room temp or from the fridge so she never knew better. It saved our lives. Wipe warmer - again, no need for baby to adjust when you're out and about.

Oh yeah, HARD NO for me on the bottle warmer. Did the bottle warmer for baby number one and he got addicted. He couldn’t shake the habit and it took me forever to get him off it. For baby number two we didn’t use it and my life was so much easier!!!

Second on the Dr Brown’s pitcher. Simple thing that just brought so much sanity to our days especially in the midst of being frustrated about breastfeeding not going as planned. Relatedly, we had both nursing and formula feeding things on our list just in case and are glad we did (bottle sample kit like Ethan mentioned, hot/cool pads for nursing) We had a normal carrier but I also used the Baby K’Tan a ton, especially just around the house. Easy swaddles and sleep sacks. They are surprisingly expensive and we rotated through so many so fast because our kid had spit-up issues. Babylist has a try it kit. That unfortunately got us hooked on the Ergopouch which is crazy spendy sooo put that on a list. We also liked Love to Dream.

Big fan of the magnetic me onesies. Not having to figure out buttons in the middle of the night while tired is key!

Second the magnetic me onesies....get the modal fabric not cotton and they last longer because they're so stretchy. My baby grew so fast and is enormous and her magnetic ones are the only ones that still fit. They're pricey but sometimes can find on sale at nordstrom rack or bloomingdales. Also cannot have enough muslin burp clothes and bibs!! My baby had eczema and after going through every type of lotion, bubbsi is the one we liked. Lastly if baby is on formula, definitely the formula mixer machine makes everything so much faster and easier.
