W-2 or 1099 for on the books night nurse compensation?
We’re first time parents hiring a night nanny on the books for a few months. Does this need to be a w-2 or 1099? The Internet seems to say that a w-2 is technically correct but that both could be done. Does it make a difference either way? How did you all decide?

We did 1099. Our night nurse chose which days and hours to work and when she wanted time off. She also chose when the engagement ended based on her other clients. If you want to be 💯 percent sure, it’s worth talking to an accountant/lawyer.
