How to get toddler to stop finger sucking

TW ⚠️ - about 💩 My toddler keeps sticking her fingers into sitting water - puddles on the ground, water tables, fountains, the sink or bath with soapy water - and then she’ll suck her fingers!!! It’s so gross. I stop her when I see it, but she’s been doing this the past couple of weeks and now she has diarrhea so I’m worried this behavior has led to this. How do I get her to stop? The only thing I can think of is to stop taking her outside.
