Running Strollers
We're using the Mini v3 as our primary stroller, but want something that's a little heavier duty for walking around the neighborhood / when I go for a run (most days of the year bc I live in LA). Have it narrowed down to the Uppababy Ridge (which we were given a bassinet attachment for) and the Thule Urban Glide. Prefs / thoughts? Fwiw - mostly run on streets / concrete (not trails), and I'm 6'2.

I'm a big fan of the Thule Urban Glide. The only minor annoyance is that you have to pump up the tires occasionally with a bike pump, which is not the case for the Ridge. To me, that difference wasn't worth spending a few hundred more dollars. I'm also not sure how handy it'd be to have the bassinet attachment for the Ridge, since the baby might jostle around too much while running. I imagine it could work okay if your route is smooth and level, but otherwise I'd be a bit hesitant to use it

Hey ,[object Object], - How old is your baby? Typically you don’t want to run with your baby until they are around 6-8 months because before that point they don’t have the neck muscles to support their heads. So to@Brian Weinstein’s point, the bassinet would be used when the baby is significantly younger which makes it pretty much useless for a running stroller (unless you use the running stroller to walk).

Right - sry - good points from each of you that are worth clarifying. Baby boy comes in June, and we need something light and compact as our primary stroller because of some pre-existing/pre-pregnancy things on my wife's side. So, the Minu will live in car, move with us, etc. We're looking for a second one that is the walk around / neighborhood stroller that lives at home. I WFH (my wife doesn't), we'll have family in and out, nannies, etc. And, bc I'm a runner, I'd like it to be a running stroller even though I can't take him with me on that activity for 6+ months. So my question could almost be rephrased as "since we already have the bassinet and want a running stroller, should we get the Ridge, or is the Thule just that much better?". Appreciate being pushed / prodded, so lmk if this thinking still doesn't make any sense! 😂😂

Thule is probably the way to go. And IMO pumping up the tires isn’t a huge deal. And you can just sell the bassinet attachment for the glide…on Recess of course! 🙂

We love the Thule as well! It’s a smooth ride and folds up nicely
