Best gear for starting solids
Thanks for all the recs for Solid Starts in my last post about eating! Would love to know what your favorite products are for this transition period. We already have a high chair, but that's about it!

We got this food catcher which goes around the Trip Trapp high chair. We kept it clean so when our baby through food we could just pick it back up and put it on his plate. Unlike the floor, where the dogs sat ready to pounce on even the smallest morsel of dropped food. https://catchyandcrew.com/

Huge +1 to the catchy! I also liked those gootensil spoons or knockoffs for the baby to self feed from. I skipped plates and stuff whenever I could and just put things on the tray. The little ezpz silicon cups are good starters for introducing water. Smock bibs!! Or just feed baby in a diaper lol

I like these bibs https://www.oxo.com/roll-up-bib-2-pack-sage.html or the smock bibs as Ally said are good too. I like these containers for sending food to school https://a.co/d/9CDLZdV (the 3 and 5 oz are prob good for now). I liked these silicone plates https://ezpzfun.com/products/mini-mat

+1 for smock bibs especially for purées and early stage stuff. Silicone pocket bibs or the ones Allison recommend are better at catching solid pieces. And those EZPZ plates were the one of the few that would stick to our (Stokke) high chair tray, to my surprise; a lot of the suction cup ones wouldn’t. But we just used the table a lot of the time too, with or without a plate. This suction plate is, like, invincible: https://www.oxo.com/more-oxo/featured-sale/oxo-tot-stick-and-stay-suction-plate-dusk.html Absolutely not necessary, but we did semi-BLW and got a crinkle cutter ostensibly to help with grip (from Boon), and honestly it was also an excuse for me to live my own crinkle cut dreams.
